Remembrance Sunday service

Sunday 13th November is Remembrance Sunday and City Hope are hosting a Remembrance service for the people of south east London.
This year we will be marking the 100th anniversary of the battle of the Somme. Those events grow more distant as each year passes making it more difficult and therefore more important to remember.
We will also be focussing on the Blitz in London and look at the civilian sacrifice during WW2.
We will hear a personal testimony from the recent war in Afghanistan and turn our attention to the current conflict in Syria.
As well as all this there will be songs, hymns and poetry. We will break bread together and Paul Brown will preach a short message.
It is a time to remember and a time to mourn; to support those whose bodies have been broken and those who have given their lives.
We will also remember the ultimate sacrifice of the one who gave his life for others, Jesus.
